| After reading less than 30 pages of text, Edgar Allan Poe is my favorite author. I read Pit and the Pendulum and a few of his poems a long time ago, but I think that his writing was to complex for me to understand at the time.
Last night I read Pit and the Pendulum and a couple other short stories, and today I've read part of his philosophical essay. All I have to say is that he's amazing. I wonder why there aren't more Poe writings required through grade school whereas there are other, seemingly pointless, books that I've been instructed to read.
Either way, go read him if you haven't!
